What I like about Thanksgiving….
Thanksgiving is almost here! Personally, I am looking forward not only to my favorite meal of the year but to having my niece home from college. With that in mind I offer an “
“In a small college town, a tavern frequented by the students ran the following ad in the campus paper, during the days before Parents’ Weekend: ‘Bring Your Parents for Lunch Saturday, We’ll Pretend We Don’t Know You!’
The add was soon challenged by the college chaplain, who posted a revised version on the campus bulletin board. It read, ‘Bring Your Parents to Chapel Sunday. We’ll Pretend We Know You Well!’
There is so much we have to be thankful for even though I know that for many the year has been tough. What would happen if we consciously decided and acted upon all that has happened by taking a few minutes to re-situate ourselves in God’s Love?
Each year we have one day where we can begin again by thanking God, seeing the good, and just enjoying who and what we have. What a gift that could be. Begin with God, Look into yourself, and, maybe, the gift you receive will be a joy you and all around you can hold onto.
May Your Week Be Filled With Peace,
Fr. Peter
